The Internet Book Club

My mom works as a receptionist at a doctor’s office. She had done the same job before my brother and I were born, but did not work while we were growing up. She did a great job as a stay-at-home mom. She always complains about this doctor, because he worries about everything. She got him a program to help him run his appointment book. He does not want to use anything on computers, because he is afraid he will lose it if anything happens. My mom was smart enough to get him an online backup service so he could not use that as an excuse anymore. From there, he started complaining that he did not want people to be able to hack into his patient information. It took my mom having a representative from the company come out to explain all of their security procedures for him to trust using the online backup service. They had to explain to him that many hospitals use the same service, and that nobody would use it if there were any risk of their system being hacked. Now that he uses it, he loves it. He says he does not know how his practice went on so long without anything like it.
