The Internet Book Club

You know what would make Chicago marketing online easier? Actually owning a computer. But tell that to my friend Jacob. He’s trying to start his own Internet marketing company, but just goes to the library or an Internet café or borrows a friend’s computer to do his work on. I don’t know how he even has any clients given he doesn’t even have an office. Certainly, he doesn’t have any advertisements, at least, not any that I’ve seen. I don’t know how exactly he would get design an advertisement. Probably, he’d just draw one out on a napkin and hand it to someone. I’ll give him credit for one thing. He’s a smooth talker. Get him comfortable and he’s able to talk his way into just about anything. That’s probably how he got started and found a couple of clients. I still don’t know how he’s getting by every single day though. Doesn’t everyone need a computer for something? Yet, his entire business and livelihood depend upon the Internet and he doesn’t own a computer. He has email accounts and all these programs and projects he saves to CD and then puts them on other computers, but he still refuses to buy one of his own. When asked why, he says why buy it when he doesn’t need it.
