COMMON THREAD
A lot of businesses that serve Chicago residents and other business base themselves in the suburbs. For example, a lot of Chicago marketing online companies and other Internet-based businesses have their offices out in the suburbs. It’s a common thread. While it used to be that people would live with their families out in the suburbs and commute into the city to work every day of the week (and still is in many cases), many businesses now base themselves out in the suburbs while their employees live back in the city. Many call centers that provide customer service will be based out in suburbs like Arlington Heights, Skokie, and Morton Grove. Corporate parks tend to be built in suburbs and will have their own lawns and scenic beauty. Of course many people live in the suburbs and work in the suburbs. It all depends on where they want to live and what their financial situation is. Some people like living in the city or a suburb that’s far away from their jobs so that once they’re done with it for the day they’re far removed from it and worry about it. They know they have to deal with a commute, but they’re all right with it.
